Every Good Boy Deserves Favour

Every Good Boy Deserves Favour:leading global athletic footwear and apparel retailer. I love music of all kinds and have seen the moodies live several times since 1981 in Atlanta. I met them in Montreux in 1989 and got to chat back stage. I can't think of anyone preceding them in the concept album category, and certainly not anyone who pulls it off so immensely, especially in their first 5 albums. Rock, classical, country, folk, English ballad and march, certainly jazz, and other tidbits of musical style show themselves readily apparent. If you like their preceding albums, you will notice a striking, rather astonishing sequence of psychedelic experimentation as it was known in the 60s, and much of this attached to some serious rock beats and distorted guitar--all of which became their trademark. Interspersed were lovely, more gentle songs along the journey. This album is decidedly more bucolic, pastoral, and calmer, even in consideration of its only true rock piece "Story" at the beginning....It is certainly one of my favorites. The bulk of songs, concommitantly, in this album are more reflective in tone and execution than in all previous ones, save perhaps, "Days of..." I feel they hit their apex at Threshold, Children's and Lost Chord. There's no doubt in these albums that they are on fire in every category, and these albums stand firm in rock annals as having contributed in a serious, undeniable way...the other albums are NOT their best efforts, and should not be expected to surpass these 3 I've mentioned. I've noticed reviews of others who claim this album is their best which is just silly. I appreciate their opinion, but when you add up ALL of the Moodies' strengths displayed previously, this album is definitely weaker in the Rock department. While largley satisfying, their songs do not tie together within a powerful thematic unity as with the other three mentioned and do not have the compositional unifying musically inventive elements so evident in the other three, particularly House of Four Doors, Eyes of a Child, etc., for example. No, the Moodies had high points and above average songs on EVERY album, but they mellowed, times changed, and things done, in some ways could never be repeated, or even approached again, except in live performances of the older material, which they did in ever increasing grandeur throughout the rest of their career, even after Ray quit (debatably). So my main point is this for the newbie. This is not their best effort. The 3 mentioned ARE indeed their musically innovative powerful best, while people may differ on their FAVORITES.manufacturer regenerated product, max 81% off, tulsa mallEvery Good Boy Deserves Favour
